This class will guide participants through the process of completing the paperwork necessary to petition the court for guardianship and/or conservatorship. This step by step class will help you fill out forms and understand the needed documentation and fees associated with this process.
The class will be held entirely online. Prior to the event, attendees will receive a zip file including the documents the class will walk you through. If you are unable to print the documents for yourself, Foothills Gateway will ensure you get a hard copy of the packet; simply check “no” when asked about your ability to print on the sign up form.
It is strongly recommended you attend The Arc’s Guardianship & Less Restrictive Options workshop (Next opportunity is on 11/2/22) before attending this class.
If you have not attended the Arc workshop, we encourage you to discuss the need for guardianship with your Case Manager and/or their supervisor before signing up for this class.
**Families MUST attend The Arc Workshop to qualify for an FGI stipend to help cover the costs of petitioning for guardianship**
Registration will close at midnight on Monday, October 31st, in order to ensure attendees receive the materials needed prior to the class.
*The class must have a minimum of 4 people signed up in order to take place.
*The class will not be recorded, but the Guardianship Alliance provides the class online on a monthly basis for $225.00. Learn more about this option.
*If you are available for the class time but do not have the internet or technology access to fully participate, please reach out to your Case Manager who will work with our team to come up with a plan to support you.
